Tax document checklists, one per situation
By Arthur Teboul, DokuTrak · Published
In brief
Each tax checklist here starts from one situation and lists the documents that return needs, with where each one comes from. Download it as PDF, Word or Excel, or send it to a client as a list to upload against.
Tax document checklists
A general tax checklist asks everyone for everything. A rental owner gets asked about tuition, a student about depreciation, and the useful lines drown. These pages start from one situation and list only what that return is built from.
Every line says which copy to send and where it comes from, and every rule links to the primary source it rests on: the IRS, the agency or the company that issues the form.

Ask once. DokuTrak does the chasing.
- Your client uploads from one link, with no account and no password.
- Reminders go out on a schedule, by default 2, 5, 10 and 14 days after the request, until the file arrives.
- With AI review switched on in your workspace (it is off by default), each upload gets a first pass that flags a file that is not the requested document or an unreadable or blurry scan. It says so when it is not sure.
- You accept every file or mark it for re-upload, and your client gets the note by email. The AI never accepts a file.
