TaxDome Pricing (October 2026): What a 1-, 3- or 5-Person Firm Pays
TaxDome pricing checked October 2026: Essentials, Pro and Business per seat on 1-, 2- or 3-year terms, what 1, 3 or 5 people pay, and the catches.
On this page
TaxDome costs $700 to $1,200 per seat per year, depending on the plan and on whether you commit for one, two or three years, billed upfront. Essentials is for one user only, so most firms with staff start on Pro: about $2,700 to $3,000 a year for three people. Prices below were read on TaxDome's own pricing page on October 1, 2026, and the sources are at the end.

TaxDome plans and prices (checked October 1, 2026)
TaxDome sells three plans — Essentials, Pro and Business — each priced per seat per year, on a 1-, 2- or 3-year commitment, billed upfront. The longer the commitment, the lower the per-seat price; none of the three is billed monthly on the pricing page itself.
| Plan | 1-year | 2-year | 3-year | Seats |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | $800/seat/yr | $750/seat/yr | $700/seat/yr | Solo users only (1 core seat) |
| Pro | $1,000/seat/yr | $950/seat/yr | $900/seat/yr | Unlimited paid seats |
| Business ("Most popular") | $1,200/seat/yr | $1,150/seat/yr | $1,100/seat/yr | Unlimited paid seats |

All three plans are billed upfront, whatever term you pick. TaxDome's FAQ says installment plans become available once an invoice exceeds $9,000, but it doesn't say whether a 2- or 3-year commitment is invoiced as one lump sum or year by year — I won't guess at that distinction; ask on the sales call if it matters to your cash flow. Firms above 25 seats don't see a price at all: TaxDome asks them to request a quote.
TaxDome's pricing page also runs its own savings calculator against a short list of competitor costs. The two figures it cites — Karbon at $1,068 per user per year and Financial Cents at $828 per user per year — line up with Karbon Business and Financial Cents Scale on those vendors' own pricing pages, not their cheapest entry plans. If you're comparing against a lower Karbon or Financial Cents tier, the gap to TaxDome is wider than that calculator shows.
The catches in TaxDome's pricing
- Essentials is one seat. TaxDome's FAQ is explicit: "the Essentials plan is for a single user." Add a second person and you upgrade to Pro, prorated for the rest of your term.
- Billing is upfront only. No monthly plan appears on the pricing page itself — only the temporary and seasonal seats below come close.
- The multi-year discount is a commitment. Locking in two or three years saves $50 to $100 per seat per year, but the pricing page doesn't list what happens if you cancel early. I won't invent an exit clause; ask before you sign a 3-year term.
- Seasonal help costs extra. A temporary seat on Pro is $100 per seat per month. A seasonal seat on Business is $500 per seat for a 4-month term, and it auto-renews on the firm's own renewal date.
- The white-label mobile app is a paid add-on, on both Pro and Business — not part of the sticker price.
- SMS and KBA are billed per use, from a prepaid balance, not included in the plan price. I couldn't independently confirm current per-message and per-attempt rates today, so budget for them separately rather than assume the plan covers it; check TaxDome's help center for current figures before you commit to a volume of e-signatures or texted reminders.
What TaxDome costs a 1-, 3- or 5-person firm
A 1-person firm on Essentials pays $700 to $800 a year. A 3-person firm needs Pro or Business, since Essentials caps out at one seat: $2,700 to $3,600 a year depending on plan and term. At 5 people, the range is $4,500 to $6,000.
| Firm size | Plan | 1-year | 2-year (per year) | 3-year (per year) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 person | Essentials | $800 | $750 | $700 |
| 3 people | Pro | $3,000 | $2,850 | $2,700 |
| 3 people | Business | $3,600 | $3,450 | $3,300 |
| 5 people | Pro | $5,000 | $4,750 | $4,500 |
| 5 people | Business | $6,000 | $5,750 | $5,500 |

A 1-person firm that expects to hire should probably start on Pro rather than Essentials: adding staff later means a prorated upgrade either way, and starting on Pro avoids a second price jump. If you only need help for a few months a year, the seasonal and temporary seats above are cheaper than a full extra seat.
Take a 3-person firm as a worked example. On the 1-year term, Pro runs $3,000 and Business $3,600 — a $600 gap for Client Care, more ledger connections and a longer activity feed. Commit to 3 years instead and the per-seat price drops to $900 on Pro and $1,100 on Business, but you're locked into that rate — whether the commitment still makes sense in year two is a call only the firm's own headcount growth can answer.
What each plan does for client requests and reminders
The client-facing document workflow — portal, mobile app, organizers, request lists, reminders, e-signatures, KBA — is the same on Essentials, Pro and Business. What the higher tiers add is seats, IRS transcript integration, bookkeeping connections, reporting and more support history, not more document-collection capability.
On every plan, TaxDome's comparison grid lists: a client portal and client mobile app, tax organizers, document request lists ("send clients a structured list of required tax documents and monitor completion"), client requests, automated reminders for tasks, document approvals or unpaid invoices, two-way SMS (billed per use), unlimited e-signatures, knowledge-based authentication, intake forms, and AI-assisted document organization that renames and tags incoming files.
Pro adds, on top of that: IRS transcripts integration, a bookkeeping hub with 120 ledger connections, AI-driven analytics and reporting, account roles, a 30-day activity feed, and a custom firm URL with branded emails. Business adds Client Care — TaxDome's own support team answers your clients' how-do-I questions — unlimited ledger connections, a 365-day activity feed, help importing existing clients, the seasonal seats mentioned above, and bi-annual business reviews once you pass 5 seats.
If you'd use most of that — IRS transcripts, bookkeeping connections, reporting, Client Care — the upgrade buys real tools, and TaxDome is good value per tool replaced. If what you actually touch every week is the client side, you're paying Pro or Business prices to reach a workflow that Essentials already has.
How clients get in
Clients are invited by email, create a password, and then use the web portal or the mobile app to upload documents, sign, and message the firm.2 There's no document-only, no-login path on TaxDome: the account is part of the product.
Is TaxDome worth it?
TaxDome fits a firm consolidating CRM, workflow, billing, e-signatures and a client portal into one system, and willing to commit to upfront, multi-year billing to get the per-seat discount. It's a harder fit for a solo preparer who mainly needs documents in and signatures out, or for a firm that wants to try before committing — TaxDome sells through a demo rather than self-serve signup, so you won't get a number until you talk to sales.
The plan tier matters less here than the commitment. A firm set on TaxDome gets roughly the same client-facing tools on Essentials as on Business; the question worth spending time on is whether your firm will still be at this headcount, and still want this vendor, in year two or three of a locked-in rate.
If you mostly pay TaxDome to collect documents
Some firms buy TaxDome for the breadth — CRM, workflow, billing, e-signatures, a portal — and use all of it. Others end up paying for all of that to get the one piece they actually touch every day: a list of documents sent to a client, reminders when they go quiet, and files that come back usable.
If that's you, a request tool does only that part. DokuTrak sends the request, clients upload from one secure link with no account, reminders go out on a schedule, and an optional AI first pass flags a wrong, unreadable or expired file before you open it — you accept every file, or mark it for re-upload. It doesn't do CRM, workflow, billing or e-signatures, so keep a suite like TaxDome if you need those; where TaxDome wins is exactly that breadth, plus e-signatures, KBA and IRS transcripts on Pro, none of which a request tool replaces.

Frequently asked questions
How much does TaxDome cost?
As of October 1, 2026, TaxDome lists Essentials at $800, $750 or $700 per seat per year on a 1-, 2- or 3-year commitment (solo users only), Pro at $1,000, $950 or $900, and Business at $1,200, $1,150 or $1,100. All plans are billed upfront.
Does TaxDome have a monthly plan?
No. TaxDome's pricing page lists only 1-, 2- and 3-year commitments, billed upfront. The closest thing to monthly billing is a temporary seat on Pro, at $100 per seat per month, or a 4-month seasonal seat on Business at $500 per seat.
Can I add a second user to TaxDome Essentials?
No. TaxDome's FAQ states Essentials is for a single user. Adding a second person means upgrading to Pro, prorated for the time left in your term.
Is TaxDome any good?
It depends what you use it for. TaxDome bundles a client portal, workflow, billing, e-signatures, and on the higher tiers bookkeeping connections and reporting — good value for a firm consolidating several tools into one. If you mainly collect documents, you are paying suite prices for one piece of a larger product.
Does TaxDome have a free trial?
TaxDome sells through a demo: every plan button on its pricing page reads 'Request demo' rather than offering self-serve signup. Ask about trial terms on the call.
