What counts as an AI validation
An AI validation is one uploaded file read by the AI first pass. The review checks the file against the document you asked for and flags a wrong type, a wrong period, an expired document, missing required details or an unreadable scan, with a one-line reason. It is a first pass: a person on your team still accepts each file or marks it for re-upload.
The first pass is off until a workspace admin switches it on, and files it does not read count for nothing. The monthly allowance resets on the first of each calendar month (UTC). During the trial it is 100 files in total, and 20 on the free first request.
When the allowance runs out, nothing is blocked. Clients keep uploading, and new files arrive without an AI flag until the next month or a larger plan.

Pricing questions
How does the 14-day trial work?
You get the full Solo plan for 14 days, with no card, so you can run it on real clients before deciding. Without a card you can send up to 10 requests. To keep going after day 14, choose a plan and add a card. If you don't, the trial simply ends: nothing is charged, and requests already sent keep working for your clients.
Which plan should I choose?
Solo is for one practitioner, Team covers 5 seats, and Agency covers 25 seats with a larger AI validation allowance.
Do I need to sign an annual contract?
No. Monthly plans are available without an annual contract. You cancel in the app without a retention call.
What happens to my documents if I cancel?
Download everything you need before your subscription ends. After it ends, your documents stay downloadable until the deletion date we email you. Then your workspace (documents, requests, client details and templates) is permanently deleted from our systems within 90 days, backups included. We keep only the billing records we are legally required to hold, and our append-only security log of who did what and when, which never contains document contents.
Is DokuTrak free?
The 14-day trial is, and that is what "Start free" means: no card, real clients, the full workflow. There is no free plan after it. To keep sending requests after day 14, you pick a plan and add a card. We keep no free tier because every request stores and scans sensitive client files, which a free plan could not pay for.
Is there a limit on requests or clients?
No paid plan limits the number of requests you send or the clients you send them to. The only cap is during a trial with no card, at 10 requests. What differs between plans is the number of seats and of AI validations a month. Storage is capped at 5 GB per workspace on every plan.
Can I pay annually?
Not from the app today: plans are billed monthly, in US dollars, and you can cancel from the app at any time.
Do you offer discounts for non-profits or solo practitioners?
