Add the connector
Connector URL: https://app.dokutrak.com/api/mcp
- Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop): open Connectors, then Add custom connector. Paste the URL above.
- ChatGPT: Settings, then Apps & Connectors, then create a connector with the URL above.
You can prepare a request before connecting. When you ask to send it, the assistant opens a DokuTrak sign-in page. Sign in, or create an account there: new accounts start a 14-day trial with no card. DokuTrak shows which workspace the assistant will use before you allow it.
What the assistant can do
- Prepare a request (
prepare_request): recipient, title, a checklist of up to 10 documents, a deadline within 30 days and an optional message. Nothing is stored or sent. - Hand it to you for review (
review_request): returns a DokuTrak link where you see the exact request and confirm or cancel it. - Send it (
send_request): only the version you confirmed, once. Your client gets one secure upload link, no account needed, and DokuTrak sends reminders on its usual schedule. - Track it (
get_request): which checklist items were received, which you approved, the deadline and the next scheduled reminder.
What it never gets
The assistant never receives uploaded files, their names, their content, download links, extracted values or your messages to the client. You review and download files in DokuTrak. There is no action to send a reminder immediately, and nothing is sent without your confirmation in DokuTrak.
Disconnect
Remove the connection in DokuTrak under Settings → Connect an agent, or remove the connector in your assistant. Access tokens last one hour and a connection expires after 30 days; after that the assistant asks you to sign in again. See the privacy policy for what is processed.
Local connector for developers
If you run an AI tool on your own machine (Claude Code, Codex, Claude Desktop with a local server), the open-source dokutrak-mcp package works with an API key from Settings → Connect an agent. It can also download the files you received, to your own disk.
